You are the sand slipping away

Not  stopping , not clinging on ,

Not even on sweaty, shaky palms

The multitude of blessings

You bestowed while walking away

You are never melted by the gratitude

You just do  what you have to

Sometimes showering sweetness

Sometimes the salty tears

You are never shaken by any sight

Fresh  mornings, drowsy afternoons

And the flashy fast night

You are the same

you do not pause, only we do,

for savouring your gifts

or lamenting your harshness

But please, please slow down

For I need to do a bit more

Hug my babies some more

Say sweet nothings to my better half

Cuddle a bit more

Forgive those who hurt me,

And, seek forgiveness from those whom I hurt

heal the wounds  even if I never gave it

Smell the flowers, enjoy the rains

Cook some snacks, enjoy my work

Read a bit more, write a bit more

Please , please slow down

Apart from the blogathon that I have jumped into there is another very important issue (!) which has been circling inside my head for long and hold your breath, it is about getting hold of a good yeast (!!) Love for lanterns...post no. 16

    Image courtesy : Internet.  M y love for lanterns stem from my childhood memories. Lanterns are an integral part of that memory because we lived in a house in a small town in Kerala, this place had no electricity at that time, but we never ever actually felt the lack of it.   The dim light of the rustic lantern which we kept on the ‘poomukham’ (or raised verandah in English) shall remain fresh in my memory forever. We studied under that light, we prayed and played pranks on each other under that light.   Those lanterns and the luminous light emanating from it was witness to some of  the bestest years of my life.   These are some images which I heart, including the header of my blog,  also I have a small collection of miniature lanterns with me.    This mini post is dedicated to my love for lanterns.
